Printing Stuff

Written: 29th July 2026

My 3D printing journey deserves more than what I’m going to give it here, but TL;DR I bought a 3D printer, and it’s re-ignited a passion for designing and printing bits an pieces.

Some minor projects of my own:

  1. Recreating two things:
    1. A love heart for a keychain
      1. Heart.scad
      2. Heart.stl
    2. A plant pot that I liked
      1. Printables Link (likes welcome 😉)
      2. 6 Sided Pot.stl
      3. Pot.scad
    3. I could not find either of these things on thingiverse (where I almost certainly downloaded them many moons ago) despite much searching.
  2. Hooks for cuff-links | PNG
    1. This is so they can go into the packing foam inserts, which in turn can go into a little box.
    2. Part 1:PNG | STL
    3. Part 2: PNG| STL

Some models I’ve printed that have been worth the plastic (not a high bar, but not trivial either).

  1. A Cord Spool - This is just a handy way of storing bits of chord and odd shoelaces I seem to acquire.
  2. Caribiners - somewhat nicer than the crappy metal ones, somewhat less nice than the nice metal ones. Useful as you can print them if and as you need them.
  3. Any-Hook-Generator for OpenSCAD - Just handy of hooks1
